Ahmedabad-based Shalby Hospitals has acquired majority stake in the Vrundavan Hospital, a 115-bed facility in Mapusa town, 9 km from here.
Shalby Hospital’s Chairman and Managing Director, Vikram Shah, said that it has purchased 55 per cent of the shares, signing a joint venture agreement with Vrundavan. The hospital will be now called `Vrundavan Shalby’.
After the JV, the hospital is expected to have all the super-speciality facilities, he said. Vrundavan Hospital, established a decade ago, caters to a large number of foreign patients, as a part of medical tourism. The bed capacity of the Hospital will be increased from 115 to 215 at the expenditure of Rs 100 crore.
