While praying for the speedy recovery of the girl, Anis demanded that the culprit be apprehend immediately and convicted and severely punished.
He also called for the government to provide for special security in schools stating “we demand that the chief minister takes a bold decision on the security apparatus in schools and colleges. He also said sexual exploitation of women and obscene depiction of women should be curbed.
Stating that “Prostitution is rampant in the state,” Anis said the state government should ensure that Goa is not promoted as a sex tourism destination and women are not sexually exploited in the state.
He felt that even thought there are strict laws in the country the crime rate has increased rapidly because the conviction rate was very low and this was a major factor that needed to be addressed.
Anis stated that while VIPs enjoy maximum security, common people are left to suffer at the mercy of antisocial elements. He felt the police must be accountable and ensure the safety and security of citizens.
The SIO had a protest march in the city on Tuesday evening and said a delegation would be meeting the director of education on the matter.
