A special court in the city on Friday remanded a 37-year-old man was arrested earlier to seven day SIT custody on charges of involved in the murder of Journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the murder of Lankesh who was shot dead in front of her house in the city on September 5 last year, sought the custody of the youth identified as K T Naveen Kumar, who was arrested on February 18 for possessing live bullets.
Reports said during investigation it was found that the arrested had revealed he had conversation about guns and ammunition with some of his friends in Maddur in Mandya district with some of his friends and had talked about his links in Ms Lankesh’s murder after which he was arrested following a tip off.
The SIT officials had already questioned Kumar, a suspected member of a right-wing organization, in connection with the case. He was arrested after police found 15 rounds of cartridges of .32 calibre which were the same as the 7.65 mm cartridges, used to kill the journalist.
