Police sources said that Calangute police have detained the six bookies from a residential bungalow.

PI Nilesh Rane received a tip-off about the gang of bookies, who are from Mumbai, accepting bets for final IPL match between Mumbai and Chennai Super Kings.

After obtaining search warrant, Calangute police team visited the spot and detained the six bookies.

Police also seized around 45 cell phones, four laptops, account books, calculator and TV set. Police said that bookies were accepting bets and no cash transactions were taking place.
