The Agriculture Department will shortly undertake soil nutrition testing in the talukas of Sattari and Quepem to help it prepare a guideline of suitable cropping patterns in the two talukas.
The testing will be done through Centre’s Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna under which Rs. 3 crore has been sanctioned, said Agriculture Minister Vishawajit Rane.
He also said that similar testing will be done in the other talukas after the first two are completed.
Based on the results of the test, experts will then be given the task of suggesting the type of crops to be cultivated in the two talukas.
