Sonia Gandhi is an accused and must be treated by ED as an accused

You are only guilty until proven guilty but until then you are an accused and it is imperative that an accused cooperates with the investigation agencies and with the related legal authorities until proven not guilty of the accused crime.

Sonia Gandhi along with her son Rahul Gandhi is an accused in a crime. ED is conducting an investigation. They are being questioned in order to get to the bottom of the crime because they are one the accused in the alleged crime. ED or any other government investigative agency would have summoned a common person accused of crime to come to the ED office for questioning. I do not see anything abnormal or unusual in the process or procedure of the investigations.

When a chief minister of a state, in this case, chief minister of Rajasthan Ashok Gehlot mouths an absolute ridiculous statement, saying, ‘Enforcement Directorate must come to Sonia Gandhi’s home to question her’, you realise that slavery in India has not been abolished and there still exists a perverted aristocracy in India. It is disturbing for me as a citizen and it must be disturbing to most Indians to see this perverted slavish mentality.

No political leadership exhibits this perverted aristocracy more blatantly than the Congress leaders in their undying slavery to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Their behaviour makes my stomach squirm to the point of having a nauseating feeling.

These political leaders are not common people but people in high political positions in government in different states or at the Centre.

Even the UPA candidate for the Presidential Elections, Yashwant Sinha, who was a former Union Minister of Finance opined that the ED should go to Sonia Gandhi’s home if they want to question her. Seriously, even if she was the Queen of India, God forbid, she is not law or above the law. India is a democracy not a monarchy.

So let me state this as simply, firmly and directly as I can, Sonia Gandhi might be the Queen of 10 JP and she, her Congress followers are free to live in their illusions of fading grandeur but in the eyes of the law, she is an accused in a crime just like her son.

The claimed peaceful protests by Congress across India when Rahul Gandhi was questioned by the ED and now when Sonia Gandhi is being questioned is India’s oldest political party clinging to the last straw to be politically relevant in Indian politics.

The protests and the condescending verbal attack by some Congress leaders on the investigating agencies like ED and CBI is nothing but an attempt to gain sympathy for the devil as the song from Rolling Stones goes.

People with integrity do not fear the law. They face the law with the truth. If there is no crime, there will be no charge or no legal hassles. Just like a common person would have to cooperate with the investigative agencies, it is not unusual or demeaning in any form to expect Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to cooperate with the investigative agencies.

I do not see the need for the drama of protests by Congress leaders across India because ED is questioning Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Surely, they are not above the law. If Congress thinks that they are above the law, then Congress will become even more irrelevant in India in the months ahead.

The slavish attitude to Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi from senior Congress leaders, in my opinion, does not come from a worship of their leaders. It comes from a fear that along with their leaders they are hand-in-glove in several corruption cases across India. In fact, I have heard from some of my Congress friends have some nasty opinions about Rahul Gandhi. Nobody in the Congress dares utter anything vile about Sonia Gandhi.

Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi must learn from Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi used an arrest of her by an investigative agency to turn the entire tide of the election to her favour. She did not resort to strong arm tactics, she merely played the victim and cooperated with the investigative authorities. All it took was one photograph with handcuffs in most newspapers to swing the emotions in India. Unfortunately for the Congress, Rahul Gandhi does not have a political strategist mind and Sonia Gandhi is bogged down with her own illness to fight back strategically.

The more protests Congress end up doing over the ED investigations, the more the emotions of the people will move away from the Congress and that will augur well for BJP because it is showing India through the mainstream media and social media, the lack of fire in the Congress to take on the might of the BJP and the incovenience that they are causing to the common people with their protests.

In fact, CBI as a caged parrot was a term used by the Supreme Court in May 2013 during the UPA 2 regime. The Apex Court had said “caged parrot speaking in its master’s voice” and further it stated “It’s a sordid saga that there are many masters and one parrot.”

It easy to cry wolf and scream that I am being politically victimised, it could work one or two time, after that people can call the bluff. Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and the Congress must be wary of the story of the ‘boy that cried wolf’, it just might end up being a prophetic message about the rout in 2024, if they continue crying wolf.
