SOP to be implemented by Mar 31: Ajit Pawar

Mumbai: To ensure safety of women in Covid Center in the state, the Standard Operating System (SOP) will be formulated and implemented by March 31, the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar informed to the state assembly on Thursday.

Making announcement Mr Pawar said this SOP would be mandatory to all Covid centers in the state.

The issue of molestation of a woman by a doctor at a hospital in Aurangabad city was raised in the Assembly. The incident of attempted molestation of woman patient admitted to a hospital in Aurangabad was unfortunate and concerned was not raped.

However, attempting to molest is also a bad thing,he said.

Mr Pawar further said that a preliminary inquiry into the matter has been conducted by local women medical officers.

Meanwhile, the accused doctor has been remanded to custody after first-hand facts were found in the woman allegation of attempted molestation, however, the name of the woman is being kept confidential.

Further action will be taken after receiving the report after thorough investigation, he added.
