South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar has written to Union Minister for External Affair Sushma Swaraj requesting her to secure the release of a 27-year-old youth from the state who was earlier this month sentenced to 517 years imprionment by a court in Dubai for alleged involvement in a scam.
In a letter written on April 23, which he shared on twitter, the MP has said, “I would urge that the concerned officials may be directed to examine the case and take appropriate steps for release of Ryan D’Souza.”
Ryan D’Souza (27), from Siolim in North Goa, is undergoing imprisonment for 500 years at Central Jail in United Arab Emirates.
From June 13, 2014, Ryan was recruited from India to work in United Arab Emirates as an Office Administrator for the company “The Exential Group” and was working as Office Administrator.
Ryan had also invested his parents’ money into the company that was sent from India to UAE.
Ryan was working as an office administrator from June 13, 2014, until February 5, 2016. Thereafter, he was promoted to senior accounts sepcialist from March 2016.
On January 31, 2017, Ryan Dsouza resigned from the company Exential Group and was leaving the United Arab Emirates.
On February 10, 2017, when Ryan exiting the UAE travel to India thereafter, he was stopped at Dubai Airport Immigration in relation for case with regard to the company, he said.
