State Government Approves Counselling Scheme For Students

The State Cabinet on Wednesday gave its nod to a counseling scheme for students studying in government and government aided schools.
Addressing media persons, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat said there have been many cases of students committing suicides because of academic pressures. He further informed that this scheme will be implemented with the help of non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
The Chief Minister said the state government is expected to spend Rs 1.14 crore per annum and the selected NGOs will be paid Rs 15,000 per month for the work.
