State Government on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) to promote of science and technology-based development in the State.
The MOU states that sharing of knowledge and transfer of various research held in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre will be done for the betterment of Goa in the field of agriculture, food, water, nuclear power, technology development, solid waste management, bio degradable waste, etc.
The researches made by BARC will be available for Goans under the MOU.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava said that the MOU will help to attain the relationship between Goa and BARC, the premiere research institute and it will benefit for enhancing the quality of life.
Dr. Anil Kakodkar, eminent scientist, stated that the idea of signing of MoU with BARC and Government of Goa came to him when he was interacting with Goan scholars some months back. He said scientific research gives joy and further added that science is basic for the upliftment of quality of life of the people.
