Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said that government has framed subsidy schemes to give boost to industries to provide employment to local youth.

Under these schemes, certain incentives are given to industrial units who employ 80 per cent Goans,’ Parrikar, who also holds Industries portfolio, said in a written reply in response to a question tabled by Congress MLA Antonio Fernandes.
In response to another question tabled by Leader of Opposition Chandrakant ‘Babu’ Kavlekar, Parrikar said the break up of Goan and Non-Goan workers was not maintained by the Directorate of Industries Trade and Commerce and Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa- IPB).
He said there were 4569 small manufacturing industries, 92 medium manufacturing industries and 192 large manufacturing industries operating in the state and proposed employment generated from them were 72353 (small industries), 19325 (medium industires) and 32132 (large industries).
