Telangana records 2,734 new COVID-19 cases, 9 deaths

Hyderabad: Telangana registered 2,734 fresh COVID-19 cases pushing the cumulative number of the virus cases to 1,27,697 till date, while the overall toll mounted to 836 as nine more people succumbed to the contagious coronavirus during the 24 hours.

A state health department bulletin on Tuesday said that 2,325 people had recovered from the virus between Sunday and Monday taking the total number of recoveries to 95,162 so far with a recovery rate of 74.5 per cent as against the national average of 76.94 per cent.

The case fatality rate in the state was 0.65 per cent ,while the countrywide mortality rate was 1.77,the bulletin said. adding that the number of active cases in the state stood at 31,699.

During the last 24 hours,38,351 COVID-19 tests were conducted while the results of 878 swam samples were pending, the bulletin said.

Of the total 1,27,697 positive coronavirus cases the number of asymptomatic cases was 88,111,while the symptomatic cases were 39,586.

The districts which reported more than 100 positive cases during the last 24 hours were the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits (347), Ranga Reddy (212), Nalgonda (191), Khammam (161), Bhadradri Kothagudem (117), Nizamabad (114), Warangal-Urban (112) and Karimnagar (106), the bulletin added.
