Telangana reports 417 new nCoV cases, two fatalities until Tuesday night

Hyderabad: Continuing the surge, Telangana recorded 417 fresh infections until 2000 hours on Tuesday pushing the COVID-19 tally to 2,88,410 so far.

In the past 24 hours, two patients died of COVID-19 taking the overall toll to 1,556 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent, according to a state health department bulletin on Wednesday.

As many as 472 people have recovered from Coronavirus statewide between Monday and Tuesday taking the cumulative number of recoveries thus far to 2,81,872 constituting a recovery rate of 97.73 per cent while the National recovery rate was 96.3 per cent.

The state now has 4,982 active cases of coronavirus including 2,748 individuals in home or institutional isolation, the bulletin said.

During the last 24 hours, 43,318 swab samples have been tested in the state to detect the contagious virus and out of which the reports of 471 swab samples are awaited.

More than 71 lakh COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state as so far since the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

As usual, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contributed a maximum of 82 Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours followed by Ranga Reddy district (34) and Medchal Malkajigiri district (32).

The remaining coronavirus cases were reported by other districts, the bulletin added.
