Hyderabad: Telangana again witnessed a spurt in COVID-19 cases by registering 1,481 fresh positive cases till 2000 hours on Tuesday after reporting less than 1,000 cases in the last three days.
With the addition of 1,481 new positive cases, the cumulative caseload of COVID-19 has risen to 2,34,152 in the state till date.
During the last 24 hours, four patients died of COVID-19 pushing the overall death toll to 1,319 in the state so far constituting a case fatality rate of 0.56 per cent as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.5 per cent, a state health department bulletin said on Wednesday.
A total of 1,451 patients have recovered from the Novel Coronavirus pushing the total number of recoveries in the state to 2,14,917 with a recovery rate of 91.78 per cent while the National recovery rate was 90.70 per cent.
The state now has 17,916 active cases including 14,883 in home and institutional isolation, the bulletin said.
In all, 40,081 COVID-19 swab sample tests of people were conducted between Monday and Tuesday while the reports of 664 swab samples were awaited.
So far, 41,55,597 COVID-19 tests have been carried out in the state since the outbreak of the pandemic.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation remained the top contributor of the Coronavirus cases by registering 279 fresh cases in the past 24 hours followed by Medchal Malkajigiri district (138) and Ranga Reddy district (111).
The remaining positive cases were reported from other districts, the bulletin added.
