Thank people of J’khand for giving clear mandate, pledges to fulfil aspirations of people: Hemant


Ranchi, Dec 23 (GCCurrentAffairs) Leader of opposition and JMM’s acting president Hemant Soren has thanked the people of Jharkhand for giving a clear mandate in favour of Mahagathbandhan and said that the day for him was a time to take a pledge to fulfil the aspirations of the people.

Addressing a press conference at his residence here he said that the people of Jharkhand have given a clear mandate in these elections for which the people of Jharkhand needed to be thanked.

He said that the day was also a time for celebrations of the people but for him it was a time to take a pledge to fulfil the aspirations of the people.

Hemant also thanked the central leadership of the Congress and the RJD for jointly campaigning in the elections and ensuring the victory of the party. He thanked Lalu Prasad Yadav, AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi for their support and showing faith in his leadership.

“With this mandate, a new chapter will commence in Jharkhand and the verdict was a milestone,” he said, adding that he would work to fulfil all the hopes which the people have for him and the aspirations of all the sections of the society and the community will be fulfilled. He said that soon a meeting of alliance partners will be held in which future course of action will be decided.

As per the trends and results of elections available so far the Mahagathbandhan comprising the JMM, Congress and RJD was ahead on 44 seats with JMM leading on 29, Congress on 14 and RJD on 1 seat.

Earlier After leading the Mahagathbandhan to the throne of power in Jharkhand acting president of JMM Hemant Soren met his father Shibu Soren at his residence and took his blessings after the super show by the party.
