The Konkan Bharat & Spiritual Goa

Konkan Bharat includes Konkan division or the land along the west coast of Bharat inclusive of the great heritage of ancient culture & tradition. Konkan is a beautiful stretch of the western coastline of India. It proceeds from the north of Palghar region in Maharashtra state, Mumbai, Ratnagiri, Goa to Karwar in Karnataka state in the south. It is bounded by Sahyadri hills or Western Ghats and the land is blessed with rich flora, fauna & wildlife. Konkan Bharat is the land of sages & rishis of ancient Bharat. It is a spiritual land with many ancient temples, places & pilgrimage sites.

In spiritual words & context – Konkan is the body, Bharat is the soul. Konkan Bharat is the life that lives along with Sahyadri hills & the Arabian Sea. Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a great king of Konkan Bharat.

Goa is a part of Konkan Bharat and a perfect spiritual destination. Spirituality simply means to live in harmony with Mother Nature. It is also inherent in the legacy of the state of Goa as also of India as a nation. Spirituality unites everything. Spiritual living is not only healthy living in terms of healthy food and nutrition but also mental and emotional well-being. It helps in professional and personal growth so that successful achievements give happiness along with inner peace and content.

Goa is a beautiful place with natural greenery, sea beaches, good cities with many options of comfortable living facilities & many services available and also there are villages with good agriculture lands in rural areas. Goa has a unique combination of urban city that has decent standard of luxury & living but with a peaceful & relaxed pace of life & living of the people. Many people visit Goa from across the world to find peace, relaxation, to enjoy with friends, family or simply to spend some good time.

The meaning of peace and the ways to enjoy good time are different for different people. Many people come to Goa to enjoy disco, dance & music parties at clubs, hotels, beach side restaurants & shacks. Some others like to simply enjoy food and drinks with friends & family at hospitality places where there are possibilities of making new friends. While some people who are looking for solace & solitude find quiet & peaceful Goa very friendly and the natural retreat experience gives necessary healing to body, thoughts & emotions.

In all possibilities of life there is a desire to live more, to experience more and Goa is more than just peaceful natural beauty or a place to enjoy party & have fun. The beauty of Goa is the simplicity of life & living and the energy is the simplicity of expression. It is a blessed land and we can understand Goa in a better way only with spiritual perspective. Goa is definitely not dull, the energy in the air & environment is moving like singing & dancing. It has the energy like the passion of a lover’s feelings and the sensitive expression of words & thoughts like a poet. The happiness in the place is like sunshine that just makes us go out and do whatever the heart feels.

The vibrant yet peaceful energy and the exciting joyful yet relaxing blissful experience is the reason for attraction of many people to Goa from across the world. And the people of Goa have a rich heritage of ancient culture & tradition. But we the people of Goa should be well connected with the roots of Konkan Bharat and we must follow and practice spiritual living to maintain & sustain the heritage of Goa. Goa has the imprints of many years of Portugal colonial rule but still the identity of Goa remains connected with Konkan Bharat. The people of Goa are not Portuguese or European but the people of Kankan Bharat.

I am Bharat. We are Bharat. We the people of Bharat have only one identity and we must follow & practice spiritual life & living. Bharat Sparsh is dedicated to spiritual living based on the idea of Spirituality in Practical life. It is an effort to understand the people & places of Bharat and to bring better awareness about social, political & national topics with sense of spirituality & humanity. Ignorant humans are social animals in terms of modern science who are identified by different religion, caste, community or language divisions.
