Thane: Three minor sisters who had left their house and took to begging to support the family as their father was a physically-disabled person, were reunited with their parents by the Bhiwandi city police on Thursday.
On Oct 17, a woman resident of Navi Vasti from Bhiwandi lodged a complaint with the Bhiwandi city police stating that her three daughters (aged 13, 12 and 10) had gone missing.
Based on that, an offence under section 363 of Indian Penal Code was then registered with the police.
Taking the matter very seriously, the police formed a couple of teams to search for them and carried out searches for the trio at Bhiwandi, Padgha, Ganeshpuri, Ambadi, Wada, Kalyan and Thane and the surrounding areas, but in vain, police said.
Today while looking out for the missing girls, police spotted the 10-year-old girl begging near the Hindustan Masjid.
The police inquired with her about the two other sisters and came to know that they were present in the vicinity of Samrubaugh Talao area within the limits of the Bhoiwada police station.
Police took them into confidence and during inquiry, they came to know that their father was handicapped and they were fed up of the poverty in the family, so they came out of the house for begging.
Police took charge of the trio and reunited them with their parents who expressed happiness on seeing their daughters and profusely thanked the police for having traced the missing girls, sources added.
