Three terrorists, ASI killed in Panthachowk encounter

Srinagar: Three terrorists and a Assistant sub inspector of J&K police were killed in an overnight encounter at Panthachowk in outskirts of Srinagar district.

A senior Police officer told to media that three terrorists were killed in an overnight encounter, bodies have been recovered with arms and ammunition. However identity of the slain terrorists has been identified as Bodies of killed militant in srinagar Encounter Identified As
1) Sakib Ahmad Khanday
2) Umar Tariq Bhat
3) Zubair Ahmad Sheikh

The operation was halted due to darkness, as the first ray of light striked this morning, the operation was resumed, the officer said.

During intial exchange of firing ASI of J&K police identified as Babu Ram was also killed.

Pertinently, 153 militants have been killed so far this year surpassing the total number of terrorists killed in year 2019. In 2019 as per official figures 152 terrorists were killed.

Earlier, three bike-borne terrorists had attacked a joint team of police and CRPF near Panthachowk in which no damage was done, they said.

Soon after the attack, the fleeing terrorists were engaged in a gunfight by security forces in nearby area.
