Token fasts will be held at Mandrem, Pernem, Bicholim, Vasco, Margao, Panjim and Ponda by India Against Corruption on 8th June to protest against the high handedness of the authorities against Baba Ramdev and his supporters in Delhi.
Dr. Dattaram Dessai of the India Against Corruption, Ponda unit said the fasts are being held in response to the call given by Anna Hazare.
Besides, Pilerne Citizens Forum will also have a token fast on the same day from 8 am to 5 pm near Shantadurga Temple in Moica Vaddo, Pilerne.
In Bicholim, Bharat Vikas Parishad will observe a one-day chain hunger strike at Shirodkar Hall Bicholim from 10 am to 5 pm.
Meanwhile, around 150 volunteers of the Bharat Swabhiman Trust marched through the streets of Panjim on Tuesday evening protesting against the government action.
The rally that began at Azad Maidan marched through the Santa Cruz Junction and after turning towards Kala Academy returned to Azad Maidan.
