Panaji, Feb 15 (GCCurrentAffairs) Social activist Trajano D’Mello joined Congress party in the presence of Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar at party’s state headquarters on Thursday.
Speaking to reporters after joining the party, Mr D’Mello said,”Seeing the ongoing loot and plunder by some of the cabinet ministers, I felt that it was only Congress which had backbone to save democracy in the state.”
Claiming that voices of dissent were being suppressed, he alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was more interested in power than caring about its workers.
”BJP don’t care its workers but want power at any cost,” he alleged.
GPCC President Girish Chodankar termed joining of Mr D’Mello as his homecoming. However, he did not disclose post to be held by the leader.
Last year, Mr D’Mello had left Goa Forward Party (GFP) which he had joined after leaving Congress in 2017. He had also been in Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).
