The national executive meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party, which is scheduled to be held in Lucknow on Friday, will discuss the killing of two tribals – Manguesh Gaonkar and Dilip Velip at Balli.
Addressing media persons, BJP’s Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gopinath Munde said that this serious issue will be discussed by party’s national executive threadbare during the meeting.
After meeting the families of the victims and visiting the carnage site, Munde said that the party will also raise the matter in the Parliament during its next session.
Munde said that he, along with BJP’s tribal leaders, will also call on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and brief him about the Goa happenings. “We will also press for dismissal of Goa government with him,” he said.
BJP’s tribal cell had sent a three-member fact finding committee, which has submitted its report to BJP National President Nitin Gadkari.
Making a pitch for dismissal of Digambar Kamat-led government, Munde said that Goa Governor Dr S S Sidhu, who visited Balli on Wednesday, should present his report to the centre.
“Through Governor’s report, it will be ample clear that the law and order situation in state is at its lowest ebb. This calls for dismissal of the government for failure to govern,” he added.
Munde also demanded that police officers, who were mute spectators to the killing, should be booked under section 302 of Indian Penal Code dealing with murder. He also informed that the mob, which was present at the carnage site, has been booked for murder and said that similarly, the police officers, indulging in the act of commission and omission should be booked for murder.
