Tribal Youth Festival Begins on 19th February

The Department of Sports and Youth Affairs has organized a two-day Tribal Youth Festival on 19th and 20th February from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm at Morpirla, Quepem. The festival aims at providing an opportunity to the tribal youth to showcase their talents.
The festival will host folk dance competition (20 participants, 10 minutes); folk song competition (10 participants, 5 minutes). Youth between the age group of 15 to 35 years as on 1st January 2011 are eligible to participate in the festival. The participants should belong to tribal communities only. They should submit the relevant documents stating that they belong to the tribal community duly certified by the competent authority.

Youth clubs, cultural groups, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, etc., from tribal areas are can depute their groups to participate in the festival. Transport facility from their respective Talukas to the venue of Festival and vice-versa will be provided by the department.
The requisite entry forms may be collected from the respective A.D.E.I. offices at Quepem, Ponda, Sanguem, Canacona and Valpoi during office hours and the same may be submitted duly filled on or before 8th February 2011 by 5.00 pm to the respective ADEI offices. Any other Talukas interested in participating in festival can collect the forms from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Campal, Panjim during office hours.
