Agartala: Tripura government has listed as many as 45,420 health care workers across the state for receiving the first shot of the vaccine against Covid-19 after Drugs Controller General of India cleared the nod for two homegrown vaccines.
A senior official here today said that preparation has begun to vaccinate the health workers of all levels in the first phase as soon as it will reach. According to plan, the second phase of vaccination would be carried out for the frontline workers including security personnel and Municipal workers, for which listing of the people has begun.
Tripura government has identified 152 stations of the state for carrying out Covid-19 vaccination so far; he said adding that all the departmental heads of government sector other than the priority sectors have been directed to prepare the list of their employees who would receive vaccines in a phased manner.
According to report, barring some problem in archiving data, the dry run of Covid vaccination last week was successful and now, the second phase of dry run to carry out mock drills of the entire vaccination at 10 selected station of all eight districts of the state on Jan 7 next to line up the preparation.
In the second dry run is proposed to administer a vaccine to one of the team members while others will observe the patient for 30 minutes after being shot. And, in an emergency, the health worker may also take charge as a vaccinator. The process has been designed in such a way that each of the Gram Panchayat or a municipal ward gets covered by one vaccination site, the official added.
