Two arrested, one kg heroin like substance recovered in Uri

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two persons along with one kg of heroin like substance in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

According to the Uri Police ,they have recovered Narcotic substances during night checking.

Police said that a naka was established by police in Uri after inputs at Gingal by Police Station Uri and two persons were apprehended from a vehicle when the driver tried to flee.

“During interrogation, the duo identified themselves as Jhangir Ahmad Khan @ Pappu, son of Mohammad Hussain Khan of Mohura and driver namely Mohammed Hanief Quershi, son of Mohammed Azam Qureshi of Paranpilla,” police said.

Police spokesman said during search of the vehicle bearing registration number JK05J-3359 (Kwid Renault), a packet containing Heroine like substance about 1 Kg was recovered.

In this regard, police said a case under FIR number 172/20 under section 8/ 21 and 29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Uri. “The accused persons were arrested and further investigations started,” police said.
