Chandigarh: While the Haryana Police is constantly clamping down on drug mafia for drug addiction, the NDPS court in the court to initiate the action of attaching their property as well as to send such smugglers to bars.
The cases are also being vigorously advocated. In the same episode, the district Kurukshetra court convicted two people on charges of possessing a drug injection and sentenced them to 15 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2 lakh each. Non-payment of penalty will lead to an additional penalty of 6-6 months.
While giving this information today, a spokesman of Haryana Police said that on 21 April 2018, the police team asked two activists aboard and stopped them on suspicion during the check.
The Activa driver named his name Arjun Singh alias Garwasi district Muzaffarnagar and the boy sitting at the back, named his name Devpush Kumar resident Muzaffarnagar. When the police searched them, 1400 narcotic injections of 2 ml, 600 injections of 1 ml and 240 intoxicants of 1 ml were recovered from the possession of both.
Both were arrested on the spot and a challan was prepared against them and given to the court. Technical aspects and evidence were strongly kept by the police during the plea, after the regular hearing of which the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge convicted the two accused and sentenced them to 15 years imprisonment and fine of Rs 2 lakh each.
