Two temple priests killed in UP

Auriyya, Aug 15 (UNI) Two priests of a temple were killed while other sustained injuries after unknown assailants attacked them in Bidhuna here late on Tuesday night, police said on Wednesday.

Police stationed around Bidhuna to curtail violence after two temple priests killed

The news of the attack led to the violence in the area as according to reports locals pelted stones on the police and ransacked and torched several vehicles and shops, sources said.

According to the reports, to control the situation, police was forced to fire in the air and used rubber bullets.

However, the situation has been brought under control after heavy police force deployment in the area.
The deceased were identified as Lajja Ram (65) and Halke Ram (50) who were who were staying in the Bhayanaknath temple under Kundarkot police. The third priest Ram Sharan (55) admitted to PGI Saifai and is under critical condition.

Police is investigating the case.
