Chief Minister Digambar Kamat launched the work of underground power cabling proposed at Rs 30 crore in the presence of PWD Minster Churchill Alemao and Power Minister Aleixo Sequeira at Loutolim on Monday.
The underground cabling work will be done in the villages of Loutlim, Camurlim and some parts of Raia to ensure uninterrupted power supply and effective distribution of power transmission.
Kamat said that it is the duty of every elected representative to find a solution to the problems of the people. They have to work for the welfare of masses and improve the living conditions of the people; he said and informed that the Government has been implementing various social welfare schemes for the betterment of the people below poverty line.
He appealed to the people to avail of these schemes. He called upon the people to co-operate with the Government to achieve further socio-economic development of the State.
Churchill Alemao said that the Government has given priority to monitor and provide potable water to the people in the State.
Aleixo Sequeira assured to redress the problems of those employed in the Electricity Department on contract basis. He also told the people that the Government is committed towards fulfillment of the aspirations of the people. He appealed to the people to cooperate with the Government to undertake developmental works in their respective areas.
