‘Unfolding of a Dream’ – live art installation by Dr Subodh Kerkar to mark the Tibetan Revolution Day was inaugurated at Vagator by Tourism Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion Halarnkar complimented Dr. Subodh Kerkar for taking up such an initiative through art and also invited suggestions for activities and programmes that would promote tourism in the state.
The work consists of 600 Tibetan prayer flags, Lungtas, descending from the Vagator hill and making a spiral form on the beach. The four-metre tall flags, in a combination of reds and oranges, will be illuminated with electric lights. Two hundred Tibetans would stage a choreographed march with mashals alongside the flags with accompanying Tibetan music. The Tibetan Welfare Association of Goa will organise a Tibetan Food and Cultural Festival at the same venue. The installation will be on till 17th March at Vagator beach.
