UP: No change in sugarcane prices this season

Lucknow:  Uttar Pradesh government has decided not to change the State Advisory Price (SAP) of sugarcane for the current crushing season.

The state cabinet approved the governor’s address of the joint budget session of the UP legislature to be held on February 18.

The decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held through by-circulation on late Sunday night.

According to official sources here on Monday, the cane farmers will get Rs 310 per quintal on rejected variety, Rs 315 per quintal on common variety and Rs 325 per quintal on advanced variety.

This would be the third successive season that no hike has been made in the sugarcane prices in the state.

In other decisions, the state cabinet permitted the government to take a loan of Rs 2900 crore for the Ganga expressway project for purchase of land.

The loan will be taken from Housing and Urban Development Corporation for the Ganga Expressway which will be constructed from Meerut to Prayagraj.

In another division now the Deputy Police Commissioner (DCP) of Lucknow and Noida will get the power to registered Gangster Act against any criminal. Earlier only the Commissioner of Police (CP) had this power.

The state government will now organise the Chitrakoot and Nauchandi fair while land has been allotted to the election department in Prayagraj and Agra to built warehouses to store EVMs and VVPAT machines.
