New Delhi: Holding the Director-General of World Health Organisation (WHO) responsible for trusting China’s health authorities and indulging in a cover-up of China’s failure to inform the world leaders on the human-to-human transmission of the virus leading to a global pandemic, US politicians have raised their voices demanding for the resignation of Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Republican Senator Martha McSally informed Fox News that Dr Tedros ought to resign over the ‘Chinese cover-up’. Half of the blame for China’s lack of transparency lay with the WHO director-general.

“Dr Tedros deceived the world. At one level, he even praised China’s ‘transparency throughout its coronavirus response efforts” regardless of a mountain of proof displaying the regime hid the severity of the outbreak. This deception value lives.,” Senator McSally further elucidated.

Texan Republican Senator, Ted Cruz, also joined in calls for the WHO to take into account the resignation of Dr Tedros.

His spokesman informed The Washington Free Beacon: “The World Health Organization has constantly bent to the desire of the Chinese Communist Party on the expense of international well being and of containing the unfold of the coronavirus, from downplaying the extent of the virus to systematically excluding Taiwan. Sen. Cruz believes that the WHO has misplaced the credibility vital for it to be efficient, and a reevaluation of its management is urgently known as for.

Fox News reported that Florida’s Republican Senator Marco Rubio also demanded that Dr Tedros to be held accountable for  handling of the pandemic. “Once this pandemic is underneath management, WHO management needs to be held to account. That contains Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, who has allowed Beijing to use the WHO to mislead the worldwide neighbourhood. At this second, Dr Tedros is both complicit or dangerously incompetent. Neither chance bodes nicely for his future on the helm of this crucial group

US Senator Rick Scott, also called for accountability for the WHO on its handling of the coronavirus in his statement to Fox News: “When it comes to Coronavirus, the WHO failed. They need to be held accountable for their role in promoting misinformation and helping Communist China cover up a global pandemic,” Scott said last week. “We know Communist China is lying about how many cases and deaths they have, what they knew and when they knew it – and the WHO never bothered to investigate further.”

Former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley stated in a tweet, “This was posted by the WHO on January 14th’, and that the WHO ‘discovered no clear proof of human-to-human transmission’ of the coronavirus. The WHO owes a proof to the world of why they took China’s phrase for it. So a lot struggling has been brought on by the mishandling of info and lack of accountability by the Chinese.’

US President Donald Trump today tweeted, “The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?”
