Vasco Head Mistress’s lawyer opposition likely to derail PAAI Meeting

In a strange decision taken by the Goa Police and the Deputy Collector – South Goa, the first meeting to be conducted by the People’s Against Atrocities & Injustice (PAAI) to create awareness of rising crimes against women and children in the state, in particular the Vasco rape incident of the seven-year old child inside school has been rejected permission to host the public meeting.

This was revealed to the GoaChronicle.com by PAAI members who stated that the Vasco Police Inspector Rupendra Shetgaokar has stated that an objection to the meeting was raised by the lawyer of the head-mistress and UGDP leader Anacleto Viegas who felt that the matter is subjuidice and also could lead to a law & order situation in Vasco.

GoaChronicle.com spoke to the senior police official to corroborate the information, he stated, (on condition of anonymity) that the Vasco Police station had indeed received such a letter and the public meeting has been denied permission.

So far the Crime Branch of the Goa Police department have failed to nab the rapist even though the incident took place three months ago.
