Sitting outside the school, Rodrigues speaking on behalf of the family stated that the court has acted swiftly on the case and also issued relevant notices to the Goa Police Department. In light of these changes and in respecting and also having faith in the judiciary, my client has decided to stop the hunger-strike today itself.
Judge Anuja Prabhudesai has issued notice to the Goa Police to appear before her on 18th February at 10 am in connection with the petition filed by the father of the 7 year old Vasco rape victim seeking an F.I.R and immediate arrest of the school headmistress Sharlet Furtado, Class teacher Deesha Kavathankar and head clerk Brazina Godinho for destroying vital and crucial evidence after his daughter was raped.
The father represented by Adv. Aires Rodrigues in his petition to the Children’s Court has sought that the police been directed to register an FIR against the Headmistress, teacher and the head clerk for offences of criminal conspiracy and destruction of evidence after the rape.
