Vasco Rape Case: Judge inquires reasons behind only one-case being transferred to Crime Branch

Asking the Crime Branch Investigation Officer, PI Sunita Sawant, a direct question, Judge Anuja Prabhudesai inquired as to the reasons behind the Crime Branch only taking one case under its investigation, when two interlinked cases on the same rape incident had been filed by the rape survivor family and police at Mormugao Police Station.

Att the Mormugao Police Station, two cases have been filed, one against unknown persons responsible for the rape of the seven-year child inside the Deep Vihar School filed by the father of the rape survivor and other against negligence of the head-mistress, class teacher and head-clerk filed by the Goa Police.

The Judge has asked the prosecution to advice the government to rightly transfer both the cases to the Crime Branch as they are inter-linked with the rape case.
