Vasco Rape Case: Survivor’s father begins indefinite hunger strike today
Speaking to GoaChronicle.com, the father stated, “I am really disappointed with all the assurances given by the Chief Minister because I see no results as the rapists is still living freely while our family lives in fear. The CM had met us yesterday on February 11th and told us that he would give us a full report on February 12th in the evening, but at about 1pm I got a call from our MLA Milind Naik who said that our important meeting with the DGP, DIG and other officers investigating the case was postponed because CM would be busy with the arrival of Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.”
He further stated that there appears to be an attempt to shield the head-mistress Sharlet Furtado who was responsible for destroying very crucial evidence. The police have not even registered a case of destruction of evidence against her but off negligence for which she was given bail.
