Vasco rape case to be raised in Parliament
Addressing the media at Vasco today after a meeting of concerned citizens, Adv. Aires Rodrigues stated that the issue will be highlighted in Parliament to expose the failure of the Goa Police to nab the rapist despite three months having elapsed.
Also present at the press conference amongst others were Auda Viegas, Cyril Fernandes and Adv. Guru Shirodkar.
Let the people across India and the world know about the incompetence of the Goa Government to deliver justice to a 7 year old, who was brutally raped in broad daylight, stated Adv. Rodrigues.
Adv. Rodrigues also informed that the Children’s Court would be moved again next week on account of the failure of the police to comply with the Court orders issued earlier this month.
Castigating Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s statement that he had been personally monitoring the investigation of the rape case, Adv. Rodrigues stated that what infact the Chief Minister had been monitoring was the hush up of the case.
Alleging that the police had miserably failed in the case, Adv. Rodrigues challenged Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to allow the public to take charge of the investigation and nab the rapist with the assistance of a team of good police officers comprising of a Dy SP, a PI, a PSI and three constables.
“We will nab the culprit and bring the case to a logical conclusion” assured Adv. Rodrigues.
Adv. Rodrigues also denounced the stoic silence on the issue by the four MLA’s of Mormugao Taluka who for political and vested reasons had shown total insensitivity to the case, only to shield the rapist, the school headmistress and other staff.
