Vrushab’s Painting Exhibition

A painting exhibition by 15-year old artist Vrushab Sansguiri is scheduled to be held from 17th November at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao which will be inaugurated by Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar.
Inspired by his father Harshad Sansguiri and great grandfather Mangesh Kenkre, Vrushab started painting as a hobby. Given his passion for painting, he was selected to represent Goa for the West Zone, zonal selection camp for the National Balshree in September 2009, for which he was awarded the Gomant Bal Bhushan award on 14th November this year.

Some of his exclusive paintings have been selected for various events like the one titled ‘My Goal’ was selected for the 35th State Art Exhibition held at Kala Academy last year. His back and white sketch of Michael Jackson was selected for the inaugural of Café Al Fresco at the Sunapranta Art Gallery, Panjim, while his painting of Lord Ganesha was selected at the Ruchika Art Gallery, Panjim.
Vrushab’s talent has won him many prizes and awards at various competitions and events which include the second prize at the State level drawing and painting competition for Cultural Talent Search organized by the Directorate of Art & Culture at Panjim this year; first prize at the painting competition organized by Kala Awishkar in association with Naguesh Village in July 2009, first prize for painting competition organized by Goa State Commission for Child Protection, first prize for painting competition organized by Youth Hostels Association of India in January this year and also the one organized by the Indian Coast Guard for school children this year.
