What are you afraid of Uddhav Thackeray?

Media is the fourth pillar of democracy.

If in a democracy you trample upon media, it means you do not respect the very pillars of the Constitution on which this nation has been built.

It is the job of the media to seek the truth. Sometimes in the abysmal pit of corruption, even authorities whose role is to investigate a crime truthfully opt not to in order to please their political masters.

India would not have opened its eyes to the anomalies in the investigations of the Sushant Singh Rajput death case. It would have been forgotten as the suicide of a Bollywood star. The people of India would have moved on with their lives.

It is media that has kept all authorities at the state and even the Centre on their toes in their relentless pursuit of the truth.

The actions of the Mumbai Police and the unprecedented support of the Maharashtra government to one of the prime accused in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case coupled with the silence of the Dawood Ibrahim controlled Bollywood over the untimely death of one of their own, reeks of something extremely sinister behind the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s death is linked to Disha Salian’s death. And it appears that some information that Sushant and Disha became privy to, is the cause of their death. Both deaths are not suicide but appear to be murder.

The nation wants to know the truth. That is what some media is doing. We are seeking the truth. And we will get to the bottom of the reason why the entire state machinery of Maharashtra is working towards blocking the truth behind the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian.

What are you afraid of Uddhav Thackeray? Who is the person or people that have got the Maharashtra government taking such unprecedented, unacceptable, and questionable actions? The relationship has to be a close relationship because you have decided to risk all in desperation to save someone or some people.

The arrest of Republic TV reporter Anuj and his team is despicable. The message it sends out to the people of Maharashtra and the rest of India is that the Shiv Sena-led government is not a democratic government but a fascist government. If people around the world want to have a look at an example of fascism, today, they would need to look at the Maha Vikas Agadi government in Maharashtra. This is fascism in its true meaning.

I did not know it was a crime for reporter to investigate a crime or follow a lead, even if it leads to your farmhouse. That is our right. We do not owe you or your government an explanation but the people of India.

If today, we find out that any crime, even the Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian death cases, leads to the office or home of the Thackeray’s; you expect us, nationalistic reporters, to put our heads down and walk away.

Who are you, Uddhav Thackeray? You are not even elected Chief Minister but a selected one. And even if you were an elected representative of the people of Maharashtra, as media, if a crime led to your doorstep, then we would expose you or anyone connected to you. That’s our job.

My mother once advised me, “Son, never fear a coward, who misuses power to crush the truth. Truth is more powerful than any power.”

I believe only cowards intimidate media Uddhav Thackeray!

Maybe India for many years was used to seeing a buy-out kind of journalism from some quarters in the media. There is a new breed of journalists in the country now. We will not only find the truth if it reaches the doorstep of the powerful, but we will also get right into the house and expose the truth.

Trampling on media is trampling upon the voice of the people of India. If the voice grows loud it will be very deafening. And this voice is growing louder and louder each day against the Shiv Sena.

People of Mumbai and Maharashtra might ignore NCP and Congress your allies in the government, who are playful and watching your downfall from the sidelines, but they will not forgive the Shiv Sena.

Your government’s actions have raised questions about your capability to be a statesman and run the government. Fascism will always be condemned in today’s world and in particular in our democracy.

The reasons for your government’s behaviour have got to be extremely compelling that you would risk the entire government’s future in such despicable actions in some sort of vehement desperation.

By attacking the media, you will only inspire them to go after the truth, because now we know, there is a truth, only because of your desperate behaviour to hide and coverup something very important and somehow it is linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian.

The countdown to the fall of your government has commenced. This has happened because of your own folly.

I have only a question. What are you afraid of Uddhav Thackeray?

Please notice I have not used the word Mr. to address as I would out of respect for the position you hold in the government and as I would have done before. But I cannot show respect when I do not feel respect to a person in a position of power who misuses power, whatever be the reason and tries to trample my fellow journalists.

You need to earn respect not get it by intimidation.
