What is so alarming in the Karjat farmhouse?

The Republic reporter Anuj Kumar was following a lead into the Sushant Singh Rajput and Disha Salian death. That lead took him to a farmhouse in Karjat.

Being true to his job as a reporter, Anuj wanted to confirm the ownership of the farmhouse and whether a person was inside, so he inquired with the security guard at the gate. The gate was closed. Anuj was not allowed to enter. The guard told Anuj that the questioned person was not inside. Following this, the Republic Team left.

When the Republic Team reached Chembur, Mumbai police took into illegal custody Anuj Kumar, video journalist Yashpaljit Singh. and Ola cab driver Pradeep Dilip Dhanavade.

Anuj Kumar was not allowed to talk to anyone, not given a copy of the FIR, produced before a magistrate without the presence of a lawyer, and thrown into police custody without even showing him a copy of the remand.

It is obvious that the guard called someone to inform that the Republic Team had come inquiring at the farmhouse. Then that someone in the Maharashtra government activated the Mumbai Police to arrest the Republic Team in 20 km away in Chembur.

If the Republic Team was trespassing as it has alleged then they should have been detained by the security guard at Karjat itself not in Chembur 20kms away.

This brings us to the moot question, what about the presence of the Republic Team at the Karjat farmhouse rattled the Uddhav Thackeray-led government to such an extent that they immediately took the Republic Team who went there following a lead and investigating, to the farmhouse into illegal custody.

There is some truth that lies in the Karjat farmhouse. That truth will come out soon.
