Will fight for my country till last breath says Kejriwal, demands resignation of PM for slapgate incident

New Delhi, May 4 (GCCurrentAffairs) Undeterred by the incident of slapping against him by a youth during the election campaign on Saturday, which he termed as having been orchestrated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said he would not be undeterred and ‘ Will fight for my country till last breath’.

Addressing a press conference here, Kejriwal, terming it as an attack on the people of Delhi , demanded resignation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for slapgate incident.

”If such an attack happens on any other chief minister, will the police commissioner save his job? Prime Minister himself should resign after such an incident. For this attack, police is not responsible, BJP and the Prime Minister are responsible,” he said.

Mr Kejriwal said the attacker’s wife in a statement has said that his husband is ” Modi Bhakt”.

”It is not the attack on the Chief Minister but it is an attack on the people of Delhim”Kejriwal said and charged the NDA government of trying to topple the AAP government in Delhi.

”They tried to topple the AAP government. They disqualified 21 AAP MLAs in a wrong manner. They cannot tolerate the entry of an ‘Aam Aadmi’ in politics.

There were raids in my office. Even in my bedroom. There are 33 cases filed against me,” Mr Kejriwal said.
Mr Kejriwal accused the Centre of trying to topple the AAP government in Delhi.

Mr Kejriwal said it was the ninth attack on him in the last five years and the fifth since he became the Chief minister.”
In the past five years, it is the 9th attack. After becoming chief minister it is the fifth attack. The security of the chief minister is in the hands of the opposition party. The security of the Delhi Chief Minister is the responsibility of the BJP government,” he said.

The Delhi Chief Minister wondered whether the Saturday’s attack on him was was a lapse or was it pre-planned?

Terming the Saturday’s attack as a conspiracy, Mr Kejriwal said there cannot be lapses for nine times.
He, however, asserted that such attack would not deter him or the AAP government.

”I will fight for my country till last breath,” Mr Kejriwal said.

Mr Kejriwal said he been raising the question that what is the relationship between Modi and Pakistan.
”Why does Imran Khan(Pakistan Prime Minister) is appealing to make Modi the Prime Minister again. I would appeal to all ”Modi bakhts” to think of the country and not make a person above the country,” the Delhi Chief Minister said.

Mr Kejriwal also accused the Prime Minister of insulting the Army.

Mr Kejriwal was slapped on Saturday by a man in the capital city during the election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls in West Delhi’s Moti Nagar area.

Chief Ministers N Chandrababu Naidu (Andhra Pradesh), Mamata Banerjee (Bengal), ex-CM of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah and leaders of the Indian National Congress on Saturday strongly condemned the incident of slapping of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during the election campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.

Security was breached as a man wearing red T-shirt slapped the Aam Aadmi Party national convenor while he was holding a roadshow in the area for the polls.

Mr Kejriwal was doing the roadshow for Aam Aadmi Party’s West Delhi candidate Balbir Singh Jakhar.As the Delhi Chief Minister was waving to the people at a gathering during the roadshow, a man climbed on his open jeep and slapped him on his face.

The assailant was pulled off the vehicle by AAP supporters and was detained by the police.Identified as 33-year-old Suresh, a auto spare parts dealer, he was immediately taken into police custody and was being quizzed.

The seven-phase Lok Sabha polls,which commenced on April 11 will culminate on May 19 and the mandate will be announced on May 23, Thursday.
