Will resign if issues in welfare dept not settled in three months: Kandasamy

Puducherry, Mar 10 (GCCurrentAffairs) Puducherry Welfare Minister M Kandasamy on Tuesday urged Lt Governor to resolve issues in his departments in three months failing which he will resign his post and fight along with the people.

Speaking at the ‘Women’s Day” celebrations organised by the Women and Child Development Department here, Kandasamy said that the Lt Governor should put forth a demand to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and state legislature.

The Anganwadi workers are expecting some announcement from him,he said adding that even though,the chief minister or himself announce some schemes for them,it will never come into force.

The Lt Governor should take a decision if the schemes be implemented. For the last two years, Anganwadi workers are without bonus, Kandasamy said and held the finance secretary responsible for this state of affair. The finance secretary had written in the file that Anganwadi workers need not be paid bonus, he added.
