Will there be a crowd of Sonia Gandhi’s Goa Election Visit?

While the last time the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee made tall claims prior to her visit to commemorate the 50th Liberation Day celebrations on Dec 17, 2011 that the event would receive a crowd of over 50,000 supporters; on the actual day as per the Special Protection Guards (SPG) report the total turn-out happened to be only 14000 odd. This time too, the GPCC and its senior All India Congress Committee (AICC) members are expecting to gather a huge crowd to surpass all previous expectations of crowd.

The AICC president is expected to address an election rally at Fatorda tomorrow but the expected feeling amongst the large voter base and including some Congress rebels especially from the South feel that while last time the supporters was dismal, this time the reaction of the people on account of the selection of the candidates in particular ‘family raj’ politics will be even more dismal.

Many feel that the Congress party has deliberately overlooked the key issues of corruption in Goa and to further add salt to their wounds they have decided to allot more tickets to Congress family members who have been centre of many scams and corruption allegations
