Bharatiya Janata Party’s Minority Cell President Shaikh Jinnah on Wednesday openly challenged Churchill to contest and win upcoming elections from Navelim constituency.
Pointing out that it would not be easy for Churchill to win from Navelim constituency, Jinnah said that in upcoming elections, BJP will win 30 seats and rule the state.
Addressing media persons, Jinnah said that PWD Minister Churchill Alemao should now stop fooling people of Navelim do some good work in Navelim constituency. Right from the time Churchill has become a minister, the electricity problems in Navelim have started, he said.
Questioning Churchill about what developmental works he has done in Navelim constituency for past four years, BJP’s Minority Cell President Shaikh Jinnah said that the only work that he has done is the construction of the Varca-Talaulim Bridge, that too for his own personal benefit.
Jinnah accused Churchill for not inaugurating the schools in Rumdamol panchayat area. He informed that because the children were facing problems, six years back foundation stone for these schools was laid and the construction of the schools is complete. “The schools are ready but Churchill is not inaugurating the schools”, he said.
Churchill is celebrating his birthday but not doing anything to support education in the state, he alleged. What is the need of the hour is not forming and providing money to the self-help groups of women but providing them jobs, he said.
Stating that in an area like Valpoi, Vishwajeet Rane has provided jobs to atleast two women in a group, Jinnah accused Churchill of not providing jobs to the women in Navelim.
On behalf of Navelcars, Jinnah said Churchill should resign and prove Micky Pacheco’s allegations wrong that he is involved in corruption and then re-contest the election.
Stating that the development that BJP has done in Navelim constituency during 51 months of their rules, he said that the Congress wouldn’t have done during 25 years of their rule.
He further said Manohar Parrikar never claimed to have developmental works in Navelim, even though he did it. But Churchill, who has done nothing, is claiming that he has done everything.
