Goa Incharge Dr Seema Fernandes on Saturday said that women would play a major role in bringing Congress to power in 2022.
”Congress Party has always respected the women and our governments have always taken initiatives to empower the women in the country. I am confident that women in Goa will play a major role in bringing back Congress to power,” she said at an event in South Goa.
Meanwhile, Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress appointed ten Mahila Block Congress Committees and handed over the letters to the respective presidents of each block at the hands of Dr Seema Fernandes in the presence of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Beena Naik.
At a function held at South Goa District Congress Office at Margao, five block committees were handed over letters of appointment by AIMC Goa Incharge Dr Seema Fernandes.

Aldrina, Quepem, Sonia Fernandes, Cuncolim and Rajani Raikar from Navelim accepted the letters from Dr Seema Fernandes.
The AIMC Incharge Dr Seema Fernandes also handed over letters of appointments to Roshan Dessai of Valpoi, Parvati Nagvekar, Siolim Sonal Malvankar, Saligao, Pelajia J Pires, St Andre, and Maria Christina Varela, Cumbharjua.
Mahila Congress President Beena Naik appealed to all the newly appointed Block Presidents and other Other Office Bearers to go all out and strengthen the Congress Party at booth levels.
She said Mahila Congress would now take up programmes to help and support women who had suffered due to Covid pandemic and economic slowdown.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress will continue with its expansion programmes in all constituencies in Goa, Ms Naik added.
