Christmas Night was the chilliest night of the year gone by as the mercury dipped to 17.9 degree Celsius on that day. This was because of the northerly winds blowing across the land.
However, the temperatures rose the very next day as the winds started flowing easterly and on 3rd January the minimum temperature in Goa was 21 decree Celsius.
The lowest temperature in Goa in recent times was on 14th December 1945 when the mercury went down to 14.1 degree Celsius. The second lowest was on 3rd January 1991 when the minimum temperature was 14.4 degree Celsius and on 9th February 2008 the minimum temperature was 15.2 degree Celsius.
