Yet another desecration of crosses at the cemetery in Divar

A police complaint has been filed by a resident of Divar, Cajetan Silveira at the Old Goa Police Station that unknown persons had in the wee hours of the morning had uprooted and damaged crosses placed before the graves in the cemetery;  in addition to that nine skulls were removed from the graves and six skulls placed at the doorstep of the complainant house, two near the post office and one at the entrance of the park of the cemetery.

A case under Indian Penal Code Cr.No.64/12 u/s 295-A, 427 stands registered against unknown persons whose deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage the religious sentiments of the minority community.

The police are investigating into the matter. This the second instance in the last three months were unknown miscreants have desecrated cemeteries of the minority in the state of Goa. The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar had in the previous incident expressed strong views on the incident and instructed the Police Department to bring the miscreants to book, however, the police authorities have till now not managed to make any constructive progress on the incident which happened in Curchorem.
