Lucknow: Storming the citadel of Left in Kerala, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday issued a clarion call to free the land from corruption and religious bias to evolve a ‘new Kerala’ under Bharatiya Janata Party.
Addressing a largely-attended public meeting on the occasion of ‘Vijay Yatra’, being seen as the launch of the BJP’s election campaign in Kerala, which is likely to go to the polls in April/May this year, he said the time has come to rid Kerala of the corrupt rule of Left on the lines of what BJP did in Tripura, Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
He said that the BJP government were doing good work in these states and you can see that separatism and terrorism has come to an end.
“Both, the LDF and UDF as well as the previous Congress governments, are corrupt and have only spread anarchy and established a rule which was against the propriety of democratic as well as social norms,’ he pointed out.
UP CM, who was in Kasargod on a day visit, was received amid tumultuous welcome with chants of ‘Jai Sri Ram’ and ‘Yogi Yogi’ all through. It was his second visit to Kerala after becoming the Chief Minister of UP, the earlier being on October 4, 2017.
Speaking about anti-conversion law brought forward by Uttar Pradesh government, he said several such matters of ‘Love Jihad’ had come to the fore in Kerala and were alerted by the High Court but the government of Kerala refused to act upon it.
“It was my government which formulated a law when matters of such nature started coming to us ,’ he said.
Lambasting the Kerala government for playing with religious sentiments of the people, CM Yogi said Sabrimala has been a prime example as to how the religious beliefs and following had been ignored by the Left government.
‘The several religious places, temples were demolished in Kerala and the religious sentiments were crushed. This is for all to see,’ he said while pointing out that “on the other hand, we respected the popular sentiments by paving the way for the construction of grand temple at Ayodhya.’
He said that Prime Minister Modi’s welfare schemes were not implemented by the Left government in Kerala contrary to Uttar Pradesh where all the welfare schemes have benefited large populations over the last four years.
“The Covid management of UP government has earned praise of WHO because we have ‘double engine’ government which has public welfare in the forefront irrespective of any discrimination,’ he said.
The rampant corruption and lack of employment had forced the honest and well-meaning youth of Kerala to migrate, he said. “Look at Uttar Pradesh, we have given jobs to four lakh. We established 30 medical colleges with the help of the Central government, provided houses to lakhs under PM Awas Yojana while lakhs of people are getting benefit of Ayushman Yojana and Health Insurance scheme” he said.
Launching a frontal attack on the LDF government of Kerala, CM Yogi did not mince his words while stating that CPM-led government, in order to serve their ulterior political motives, had been supporting and nurturing the anti-national organisations which were always detrimental to the unity and integrity of the country.
Exhorting the BJP workers in Kerala, he said that ‘they have been functioning in the most hostile atmosphere and facing all types of actions at the hands of the ruling dispensation of Kerala. “I salute to the party workers that their resilience in adverse circumstances, is testimony of their love towards Bharat Mata,’ he asserted.
The UP CM said that the mood of the people of Kerala was clear. ‘They themselves want to get rid of the corrupt regime and I see BJP coming there,’ he said while calling upon to continue to make sustained efforts to unseat the corrupt government in Kerala in the next elections.
