Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday, the state was fighting strongly against COVID-19 as the state has fought against encephalitis.
“UP was fighting against COVID-19 similarly as it has fought against deadly encephalitis. We have decreased 95 per cent of the deaths in encephalitis,” he claimed.
Addressing a gather after inaugurating a 300 bedded COVID-19 hospital along with a guest house, Bio-Safety Lab-Level 3 and a 100 bed PG hostel at the BRD Medical College here on Monday, the CM said on the directive of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UP was cruising ahead in countering COVID-19 in the state.
He said that the COVID testing in UP has gone up to 1.55 lakhs daily while COVID beds in the state have also gone up to over 1.51 lakhs.
Talking about Gorakhpur, he said that now the testing facilities in the city has been increased by the inauguration of the new testing lab.
The testing capacity would be doubled now. Later in the day, CM will also inaugurate a 320 bedded COVID hospital at the KGMU in Lucknow
