The banned terrorist organizations of Jammu and Kashmir have changed their ways and have started with over-ground activities. Security agencies have busted the roots of a network through which, a number of small groups raise funds in the name of charity, which, in turn, reaches the terrorists. The agencies have noted a PFI-like pattern in the Kashmir Valley, which was formed after the imposition of a ban on SIMI.

In the wake of the elections in the Union Territory, terrorist groups are investing money in education, health, and welfare, which have become safe means of raising money for them. After receiving the tip-offs, security agencies raided around 20 different locations and busted the network. The name of Al-Huda educational Trust has been the most highlighted one in this matter of raising money, and as per sources related to internal security, this outfit has been established by the Jamaat-e-Islami, which has already been banned under the UAPA.

Al-Huda has been found to be working as a front for the Jamaat. After its trust was probed, it was found out that many of Kashmir’s NGOs and trusts have links to it, and in the name of social welfare, raise funds from people in the name of charity.
