Kolkata: Trinamool Congress leader and Mayor-in-Council at Bidhan Nagar Municipality
Corporation Debraj Chakraborty on Tuesday appeared before the CBI officials, who are probing the
post-poll violence and murders across West Bengal, official sources said.
Before entering the CBI office at the CGO Compex in Salt Lake, Chakraborty told reporters that he was responding to the federal agency’s summon in a case of 2021.
Chakraborty, the husband of TMC MLA Adity Munshi, has been asked to appear in a murder case
of BJP leader Prasenjit Das, whose hanging body was near his house at Dum Dum Park in the first week of May.
Soon after the results were out on May 2, 2021, the reports of bloody violence, murders and rapes came across the districts and urban areas of the state.
The CBI, probing the murders and rapes following a Calcutta High order, already enquired about the alleged murder of BJP leader Prasenjit Das.
