In Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang, more than 300 Chinese soldiers were attempting to encroach a 17, 000 feet high peak, similar to back in 1999, when the Pakistani army had captured Kargil. But Indian soldiers pushed them back. Security sources are of the opinion that every time that they patrol, the PLA soldiers try to push back the limits of the Indian army’s ‘armour wall’ in the area. After the confrontation of 9th December, regular patrolling has been resumed here.

After the skirmish of 9th December, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, in the Lok Sabha, said that the Chinese soldiers, by trying to encroach the LAC, attempted to change the current status unilaterally. Indian soldiers bravely thwarted their attempts to encroach our area, and forced them to move back to their post. He added that while some soldiers were injured in this confrontation, there was no loss of life, and no major injuries.

Home Minister Amit Shah stated that the Chinese army did not encroach even 1 inch of what is India’s territory.
